Miranda Torgimson

Licensed Dietitian

As a registered dietitian, my passion is helping my clients develop a healthy and peaceful relationship with food. If mixed messages about appropriate food and nutrition leave you feeling lost and confused, let’s work together to make eating easier. With years of experience in the field of eating disorders, I understand how unique each individual’s history and journey with food and nutrition can be. I have worked with adolescents, adults, and individuals of all sizes, genders, and cultural backgrounds. When partnering with me, you can expect a non-judgmental and trusting environment. We will work together, through education and counseling, to develop sustainable and lasting changes to meet your nutrition goals.

I did not always know I wanted to be a dietitian, but I’ve always known I wanted to help people.  After switching my major several times I finally found nutrition. I, myself, was confused at the time. I was learning incredibly interesting information in school, while also getting mixed messages from media, family and friends. I knew I couldn’t be alone in this complicated journey of figuring out what it meant to be “healthy” and how to properly nourish our bodies. That is when I knew I wanted to be a dietitian, to help un-complicate this information for others.

I have worked with eating disorders for the past several years and have learned so much about the importance of developing a healthy relationship with food. Food and nutrition should require a small amount of thought and energy, not control your life. I use the Health at Every Size®  and Intuitive Eating principles to partner with you in creating a life that feels more empowered around food.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of Minnesota where I also completed my dietetic internship with an eating disorder concentration. Despite that focus, I am able and excited to help with a variety of nutrition-related concerns and conditions. I have experience with both adolescents and adults and have worked with individuals of all sizes, genders/gender identities and cultural backgrounds.
